-Sri Lankan Folk Music-

Each country has its own style of music. Sri Lankan folk music holds a special place among such existing genres. In fact, there are some number of factors that make it unique. Folk music was born among the people. So Sri Lankan folk music was also born and developed in the Hela village. In those days, the villagers sang songs to express their feelings of loneliness, anxiety and tiredness, and that songs had different flavors. They were also differentiated in terms of the occupations in which they were employed, such as the songs sung in connection with the mining industry, the songs sung while travelling in loaded carts, and the songs sung while harvesting.
